This is Omoto's double-woven Ori-Sashi Sashiko fabric, weighing in at 15oz with a substantial heft that remains very comfortable with a thick, soft hand paired with plenty of complex sashiko texture. Sashi-ori is a thick, durable Japanese fabric that features a complex, intricate weave that gives the fabric a "stitched" texture, based on Japan's traditional sashiko stitching method. This is a double-weave fabric woven on vintage machines from indigo rope-dyed warp yarns and undyed weft yarns, giving the exterior a rich, pure-indigo hue that will fade and age spectacularly with time.
